My favorite daily ritual?
This post was inspired by The Daily Prompt. Thanks!
I am a stickler for time management and schedules. If I miss a beat I am sick ya’ll. I have calendars, to-do lists, memo pads, random notebooks, you name it. I’m constantly remembering what needs to be done or what I could be doing.
This anxious, restless energy field is the method that yields the greatest success for me.
Lately though, all these ritualistic things cannot start until I listen to my Fred Hammond each morning.
His music makes me feel at peace and confident. It makes me emotional and I am so moved by the Spirit.
This specific gospel music re-centers me, and suddenly all my insecurities are washed away. I’m back on track, I’m Focused on Him.
Call me crazy, but I have noticed a HUGE difference in my spirit and my confidence since I’ve started doing this about 3 weeks ago.
It’s like when you start the day giving Praise, nothing can REALLY go wrong. But trust me, the day tries. Whether its traffic or some negative thought that wants to override me; I literally think about His love for me, how grateful I am and then there’s this peace. They say it surpasses all understanding. No doubt it does.
Even at random times I will listen to this music. It can be Saturday night and I’ll just be home yearning for the Truth, vibing out to Fred.
If you are spiritual, I encourage you to find sometime, everyday to dedicate to being in His presence.
We block out time for work, friends, everything-why not include a special space that is all about His love for you?
I am not religious and I do not go to church. But I believe Jesus died for our sins.
What I do may not work for you, and I understand if you find my stance on religion confusing, (but honestly I don’t care what anyone thinks, so there’s that.) You need to find what works for you.
If you’re interested here are the titles of a few Fred Hammond songs that allow me to step outside myself and practice being Present:
Hear My Cry
Keeping My Mind – def fave ❤
I’m not perfect by any means. I have no intention on going to church, but I love the Lord, ya’ll. That Man saved my life.
