When you were 10, what did you want to be when you grew up? What are you now? Are the two connected?
I remember lining my stuffed animals up in my grandma’s garage for the spelling portion of class.
You see: I was going to be a teacher. I had it down, pat. Both of my grandparents were teachers, so I knew this would be a breeze.
Then like a year or two later, I was determined to be an actress. I knew I was going to have to go to college out of state if I had any real hopes of fulfilling this dream. So I’d go to UCLA…duh.
After stumbling upon my passion for people, stories, and media in high school, (thank God) I knew my path would be to become some type of, hugely successful, media professional.
As I sit here today, in this law firm downtown, rushing to type this up before the boss walks up, at the tender age of 23, I still haven’t figured it out.
But here’s to another Monday and never giving up on your dreams.
